API Overview

This API determines the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes for a company using AI analysis and live web research. Provide a company name and receive the primary four-digit SIC code with its official title, a plain-language explanation of why that code applies, and a list of additional SIC codes covering the company's secondary business activities. Each result also identifies the type of source the primary code was derived from, such as an SEC filing, along with a reference URL you can use to verify it, and a confidence score for automated quality control. SIC codes remain the classification standard used by the SEC's EDGAR system and many data providers, lenders, insurers, and compliance platforms, so having them clean, sourced, and ready to load saves hours of manual lookup.

Why additional SIC codes matter
