Official Organization Name API

Retrieve the official English legal name of any organization globally, including corporations, partnerships, NGOs, government agencies, intergovernmental organizations, and educational institutions, along with the standard commercial name used by the public and media, the local-language official name with romanization, legal form, country of incorporation, registry identifier, and a direct documentation URL from an authoritative source that verifies the name.

API Overview

This API resolves any organization name (common name, brand, abbreviation, ticker symbol, local-language name, transliteration, or near-match with typos and spelling variations) to the entity's official legal identity as it would appear on governmental, tax, incorporation, or regulatory documents. Every response includes both the formal legal name (with the legal-form suffix as filed) and a deterministically-selected commercial name suitable for dataset normalization and reporting. Every response also includes a documentation URL pointing to an authoritative source that verifies the name, with a SourceType field classifying the source quality so callers can filter for registry-grade results versus secondary references. The response is a flat JSON object with 14 fields covering the dimensions of legal-entity identity that drive KYB, supplier verification, sanctions screening, contract preparation, and dataset normalization workflows.

Every Organization Globally

Commercial corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, NGOs, charities, government agencies at every level, intergovernmental organizations, educational institutions, and other formal entities across every country. Any organization anywhere in the world that has a legal identity is in scope.

Authoritative Documentation URL

Every response includes a URL pointing to an authoritative source (government registry record, regulatory filing, stock exchange listing, or official entity disclosure) that verifies the name. A SourceType field classifies the source quality so callers can filter for registry-grade results.

Commercial Name for Reporting

A dedicated CommercialName field returns the deterministically-selected brand name, what the public and media commercially call the organization, stripped of legal suffixes. Same entity always returns the same value, making this field ideal for dataset normalization and consistent reporting across heterogeneous source data.

Premium API

This is a premium API that uses advanced AI analysis across government incorporation registries, regulatory filings, stock exchange listings, and official entity disclosures to resolve organization names to their official legal identity, handling typos, translations, abbreviations, and other near-match variations in the input.

Designed for KYB, supplier verification, and dataset normalization. These examples illustrate how the API resolves lookups in arbitrary forms (common names, brand names, abbreviations, tickers, local-language names, and near-matches with typos) to the official legal identity. The OfficialDocumentationURL field links to an authoritative source whose quality is classified by SourceType; callers requiring registry-grade documentation can filter for "Government registry record" or "Regulatory filing" sources. The API never fabricates registration numbers or URLs. When authoritative data is not available for a specific field, that field receives an explicit fallback value ("Not publicly disclosed", "No authoritative source identified") rather than a guessed value. Always verify high-stakes identity information with the destination country's primary registry before relying on it for contracts, sanctions screening, or other legally consequential workflows.
